Busking and the truth

Did you ever go to bingo and have trouble not going back? Did you ever smoke and found out you can’t stop? Did you ever go to the casino and had trouble not going back? Did you ever try to go through the day without coffee? These are all addictions and so is busking. Busking is something that when you do it and get good at it you don’t want to stop. I’m sure many buskers would agree that it’s not only the money that keeps them going back for more. I can recall hundreds of times when I have seen people crying just because I played a song that brought back memories for them.

I can remember hundreds of times when young kids would dance and have fun listening to my music. I also have seen kids crying when the parents told them it’s time to go now.
For buskers it’s not only about money it’s about making people happy and knowing you are providing something you can’t get anywhere else but on the streets.

This is what busking is all about and I’m sure other buskers would have other stories to tell. Busking is not about time limits or certain spots or certain days of the week to perform. Buskers don’t work well with such rules.

Busking is an addiction, which is contributing to the performing arts or arts and culture of any municipality. If I’m addicted to busking it is something I am proud of and I’m sure I speak for buskers around the world.
